NSW Government Approves Sydney Light Rail Compensation!

GOVERNMENT AWARDS COMPENSATION FOR BUSINESSES AFFECTED BY LIGHT RAIL

In a major victory, The NSW Liberal Government has finally acknowledged that people’s lives and livelihoods have been destroyed and decimated by their Sydney Light Rail project and they have announced a compensation plan.

At this stage, we believe it is only for businesses, but this is a real milestone in the campaign, and certainly a step in the right direction.

We believe that this compensation also needs to be extended to residents adversely impacted by the destruction work, loss of amenity, and that the class action should also include the loss of our trees, wildlife, Aboriginal Artefacts, buses, jobs, and everything else this project has taken from us.

If you know any business and/or residents that have been affected in any way by the light rail, please feel free to forward on this message and encourage them to get in touch with Angela Vithoulkas at Vivo Cafe. Please see the letter from her with the details below.

COSTS AND BENEFITS OF LIGHT RAIL KEPT SECRET SINCE 2014!

The costs and benefits of the Sydney Light Rail project have not been updated since 2014, and it seems that no one is able to provide the information in the following table – can you?

The NSW Government, ALTRAC and Transport for NSW are refusing to release the current information, even under the freedom of information legislation, despite the information being freely available in 2014!

VEGAN EVENTS!

The VERY best way of saving all the trees and animals, is not to kill or eat them! We had a lovely picnic in Belmore Park, and attended a fantastic picnic in the botanic gardens with the Sydney Vegan Club! (Above)

New land-clearing codes stoke fears of wildlife loss

According to the wilderness society, one MCG worth of native trees and animals are killed every 3 minutes in QLD every 24 hours! It is feared that NSW new land clearing laws will be just as devastating as the QLD laws.

DICK SMITH’S IMMIGRATION CRUSADE

A Current Affair

We must stop immigration, if we wish to save our social and environmental future. Developers will only develop in prime urban areas, where people want to live most; usually where there are trees and animals to kill as this will yield the highest profits. What is fuelling this, is the lack of a Liberal Party,  Labor Party or Green Party policy on immigration!

Luckily, Dick Smith has set up a new website to encourage our political parties to at the very least develop a population policy, to reduce our immigration rate. How can we host any new migrants, when there are so many homeless people that we cannot look after now, and our own citizens can’t afford to buy or rent a home?
